Our History
Village Carpentry has been in business in 2016, after Shelby and Wynter Howland took over their mother's business which had been going strong since the mid 1990's. Sarah Stull first gained an interest in carpentry after studying timber framing in Japan between 1989 and 1990. When she moved back to the United States, she brought her newfound love of fine woodworking with her. She began her career as a carpenter around the Hilltowns and Pioneer Valley with various construction companies until she founded her own business, Sarah Stull Carpentry, which she ran for 20 years. Since then, she has maintained her role as a Master Carpenter, but is happy to let her sons take over running the business. Over the last two years, our staff has grown and the company has been able to take on more and larger projects.
